Adria UEM Endurance Cup 2008 |
“Confirming its great skills of reliability and speed, Laverda wins”.
This was an old advertising slogan of the company from Breganze, used
to celebrate the victories of its maxi-bikes back in the 70's.
Nowadays at the international UEM meeting of Adria (Italy) for classic
bikes, the Laverda Corse Team, headed by Piero and Giovanni, took back
to the victory one of its bike: a replica of the Laverda 500 Endurance
winner in 1978 and 1979 of the 24h of Monjuic (Barcelona) with the
riders Augusto Brettoni (I) and Pete Davies (UK).
At Adria riders crew Francesco Greggio (I), Dario Dressino (I) and
Piero Laverda himself, attended the 3 hours Endurance UEM Cup,
category 500cc. The whole team give a prove of an impressive
race-rhythm, a great reliability of the bike and a very efficient job
of coordination in the pit-box, gaining under the chequed-flag the
firts spot in the category 500cc and a surprising 4th spot in the
absolute ranking (competing against up to 1200cc bikes...).
Laverda Corse wants to thank all those which permitted to obtain this
important result and particularly the men of FMI (Italian Motorcycle
Federation) that with their work and passion permit to emphasize the
heritage and the culture of the Italian motorcycle industry.
The bike has been assembled using a kit developed by Laverda Corse.
The kit will be soon available through this web-site for all the
people that wants to take part at this kind of races.
